They carried blanket rolls. Until quite recently, wool was the best material for blankets. Then, several decades ago, nylon fabrics emerged. During the Vietnam War, a new type of blanket appeared: the poncho liner. This ultralight blanket also serves as a warming liner for a rain-protection poncho.

In Australian slang, “swagman” means a travelling worker. Something like an American cowboy or trapper, occasionally looking for work on the frontier. The difference was that the Australian swagman travelled on foot and carried all his belongings in a bedroll. With our Swagman Roll®, we salute these intrepid men, shivering on chilly mornings in their damp blankets—but with our Swagman Roll®, you will never have to emulate that particular part of their lifestyle. It is made from thin nylon fabric and filled with one of the best insulating materials mankind has ever dreamed of: Climashield® Apex™.

The Swagman Roll® is not your ordinary blanket. It is more of a multifunctional tool, suitable wherever a warm covering is required. You can use it as a poncho liner or emergency sleeping bag, enhance your regular sleeping bag with it, wrap yourself in it like a blanket, line your hammock with it—or simply wear it as a standalone long, warm coat.

Warm hood

Integrated transport pocket

Zippered front pocket

Compatible with USGI ponchos

Can be used as an emergency jacket, sleeping bag or sleeping bag liner, blanket, hammock liner (quilt), and more

Lightweight, non-soaking, easy to transport

Fits the BOB backpack perfectly

YKK® zippers

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1058/6072/7118/files/helikon-tex-swagman-roll-poncho-coyote-po-smr-nl-1_01f9e35f-0109-40df-9978-c14dcc856962.jpg?v=1785769217
