Given current circumstances, it is necessary to protect our responders from violence. This includes high-risk locations as well as deployments during terrorist-motivated incidents. In collaboration with Gelderland-Zuid Region and Gelderland-Midden Region, we developed a TGB (Terrorism Consequence Management) vest and bag.
The vest, developed by Dutch Tactical Gear in the colors of the new ambulance uniform, provides protection against stabbing, fragmentation, and bullets. The combination of the ambulance blue, available exclusively through us, the recognizable Star of Life, and the Ambulance patch creates a uniform healthcare appearance despite the tactical protection.
The bag worn by ambulance responders on the front of the vest contains half of a TGB bag. Together with the responders, Dutch Tactical Gear developed a specialized bag that is compact while still accommodating all essential equipment. In pairs, ambulance responders carry the necessary equipment for Terrorism Consequence Management while remaining mobile and unrestricted in their movements. In addition to being worn on the vest, the bag can also be carried without the vest in non-tactical situations.
