The Streamlight Sidewinder Aviation is a compact, rugged, multifunctional, primarily hands-free work light, developed for professional and military use in aviation environments. This light is designed for situations where reliability, flexibility, and control over light color are essential.

The light features a swiveling head that can tilt up to 185 degrees, allowing the beam to be aimed precisely at the work area. Thanks to the integrated clip, the Sidewinder can easily be attached to clothing, belts, webbing, or helmets, keeping both hands free during work.

The Aviation version is equipped with four separate light sources: white, green, blue, and infrared. Each LED can be used in multiple light modes, ranging from low to high and including a strobe function. The white C4 LED delivers a maximum output of 55 lumens with a beam distance of 69 meters. The infrared LED operates at a peak wavelength of 880 nanometers and is suitable for use with night-vision equipment.

The housing is made of impact-resistant, glass-fiber-reinforced nylon and fully sealed with O-rings and gaskets. This makes the light resistant to heavy mechanical stress, rain, and temporary immersion in water. The polycarbonate lens is unbreakable and features a scratch-resistant coating.

The controls consist of a push button and a lockable rotary switch, which are used to select the desired LED and light output. This design is specifically intended for operation while wearing gloves and prevents unwanted mode changes. The light operates on two standard AA batteries. Alkaline batteries are included, while lithium AA batteries can be used for longer runtime and reliable operation in extreme temperatures.

The Sidewinder Aviation is finished in Coyote and meets military test standards for shock, water, and environmental resistance.
