Tramontane Wind Jacket - Black

Helikon-Tex Tramontane Wind Jacket Black
KU-TMT-NL-01

The TRAMONTANE jacket is an ultra-light windproof layer. It was created to fill the gap between the Blizzard softshell and the Windrunner jacket in the Helikon-Tex range.

The TRAMONTANE weighs about 100 g and can be compressed to the size of a soda can by packing it into a pocket sewn onto the chest (the so-called self-pack pocket). When packed, it can even fit in a trouser pocket. In summer, when temperatures drop, it works as an independent protective layer over a T-shirt, for example as a hiking jacket. The low weight of the TRAMONTANE jacket is noticeable when worn—it protects against the wind without restricting movement, and you can even forget you are wearing it. In colder weather, it pairs perfectly with a fleece or combat shirt from the Patrol line.

The TRAMONTANE jacket is made of very light yet durable WindPack® Nylon. It is a quick-drying, non-absorbent material additionally treated with DWR (Durable Water Repellency), so it will protect you from light rain or snow. Even when wet, the Tramontane jacket dries very quickly. It is also fully zipped along its entire length, providing good ventilation. At the same time, the drawstring at the bottom hem, elasticated cuffs, and adjustable hood allow you to retain warmth when needed.

Windproof jackets in the Helikon-Tex range are named after various types of wind. The TRAMONTANE jacket takes its name from the cool northerly or north-easterly wind found in the Mediterranean.
