The Streamlight Sidewinder Aviation is a compact, high-durability, multi-function task light designed for professional and military aviation environments. It is built for hands-free operation where precise light control and reliability are critical.
The light features a head that tilts up to one hundred and eighty-five degrees, allowing accurate positioning of the beam directly onto the work area. A robust integrated clip enables secure attachment to clothing, belts, webbing or helmets, keeping both hands free during operations.
The Aviation configuration includes four separate light sources: white, green, blue and infrared. Each LED offers multiple output levels, ranging from low to high, as well as a strobe mode. The white C4 LED produces a maximum output of fifty-five lumens with a beam distance of sixty-nine metres. The infrared LED operates at a peak wavelength of eight hundred and eighty nanometres and is suitable for use with night vision devices.
The housing is constructed from high-impact, glass-filled nylon and fully sealed with O-rings and gaskets. This provides excellent resistance to shock, adverse weather conditions and temporary water immersion. The unbreakable polycarbonate lens features a scratch-resistant coating for long-term durability.
Operation is managed via a push button and a locking rotary selector, allowing intuitive selection of both LED type and output level. The control layout is optimised for use with gloves and prevents accidental mode changes. Power is supplied by two standard AA batteries. Alkaline batteries are included, while lithium AA batteries can be used for extended runtime and dependable performance in extreme temperature environments.
The Sidewinder Aviation is finished in Coyote and meets military standards for environmental and mechanical resilience.
